Certificates of Deposit with High Interest Rate, Short Term

If your investment or savings goals are relatively short-term, you may not want to keep your money in a 5-year CD just for the high interest rate. On the other hand, why not receive a high interest rate and be able to access your money in 7 or 14 months?
High Interest and Short Term CDs
Kanza Bank has the answer. As of May 26, 2010, they are offering an annual percentage yield (APY) of 1.01% for a 7-month CD and 1.50% APY for a 14-month certificate of deposit. This is a national deal offered by Kanza Bank, a Kansas-headquartered, family-owned and FDIC-insured bank. Deposit a minimum of $1,000–new money to Kanza Bank for these CD specials–and start earning high interest. Early withdrawal, of course, will result in penalties, but with these short terms, you can look forward to access in either a little more or less than a year. Perfect if you just want to put away some cash for a large purchase a year or so from now.
This is just one option if you are looking for the best CD rates. For a larger selection of banks, compare CD rates by checking RateAPY’s certificate of deposit rate tables.
