Online banking has changed the way a lot of consumers search for the best interest rate for a savings account. In many cases, customers can open a savings account in one place and a checking account with another financial institution to maximize their earnings.
Bank2, an Oklahoma-based bank, offers a Great Rate Savings Account and a Great Rate Checking Account to Oklahoma residents. No minimum balance is required on either account and customers can open their accounts online.
Funds in the Great Rate Checking Account can earn 4.01% APY on balances up to $15,000 as long as qualifications such as direct deposit and ATM card usage are met. The interest earned can be automatically deposited into a linked Great Rate Savings Account. Deposits in the Great Rate Savings Account earn 2.01% APY on balances up to $35,000.
Higher balances in either account earn 1.01% APY. The minimum deposit to open an account is $100 and no monthly fees are charged on either account. ATM fees charged by other banks are refunded.
